Weekend - Time with Kids and Eating sucked!

I had a great weekend emotionally. I spent a lot of time with my kids, got A LOT of housework done. I wish I could add housework to my fitness tracker lol But my eating habits this weekend sucked!!! I posted previously that the nutrition tracker here as made me more mindful of what I am eating. I should have put things into the tracker this weekend before I put them into my mouth! I had a calzone from Larosa's Saturday night....how many calories are in that thing??? 970!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in shock, not to mention the fat grams in there! Jeez. After eating that, my calorie in take for one day was a little over 3,000 calories after 4 days of around 1,600. I felt gross and disappointed after that. Now I know though, no more calzones!

    An important part of this Journey in the Beginning is just learning what we are eating. Just treat this as a step in your Journey. You are gathering information and getting Tools that will help you make this Lifestyle Change successful in the long run. Don't fret too much about "Bad" Choices that you make right now. They are a valuable part of the process!!

    Actually, you can track household tasks. :) Go to your fitness tracker and click on cardio - then click on "browse" and choose "Home activities" in the drop down menu.

    I had a similar experience with an enormous Starbucks Hot Chocolate earlier this year. Almost all my calories gone for the day in one "grande" cup. It doesn't undo your progress, it just teaches you how to do better. How would we learn without those kind of experiences! Keep going - you are worth the effort!!!

    Thanks eightgreat. I have a tendacies to beat myself up a lot over things. I keep telling myself though that this is going to work this time. With the nutrition tracker, it is an eye opener!

    Hang in there! That was how my Thanksgiving weekend was as well. I loved being surrounded by my family, but my good eating habits were non-existent. It took a week to get back to my pre TG weight. There'll always be a weekend that will make you want to beat yourself up, but just get back up and get going again. Good luck with you!!! emoticon
