I can honestly say that my my new intention to journal my food has nothing to do with New Years Resolutions. I never make them. I think they are beyond rediculous. I used to do them, many years ago. But like everyone else, found myself just putting them to the side after a few weeks of dedication. So this current commitment to journaling my food is a desire to look for patterns in my eating habits. I am curious to see what is going on in my life. I think i eat at work out of sheer habit and i am hopeful that the journaling will open up a few windows. Also, i want to figure out some strategies to improving the overall quality of the food i eat, so i believe that journaling will give me the best opportunity to see where i am making bad choices and where i am making good ones. Hopefully i can use the good times to apply to the bad times. Build upon success. Also, i want to see what my stress and health and mood contribute to my choices. So, week one, just journalling. nothing else. Also, i am using the new and improved Spark app on my Android phone. I am really excited about that.

    Thanks guys. My knees have become so inflamed that I am not as active as I used to be. I need to see what I am really eating and look for any trends. I am looking forward to seeing how I am habitually eating too. Thanks for support!

    I've been doing the food tracker daily for probably 2 years. It woke me up to how many calories, etc different foods have. If I am away from home I can usually figure it automatically. You are right.. resolutions don't work but lifestyle changes can and do.

    I love to started out to be simple list of what I would do for the day and just kept to write out my thoughts and dreams and find out lots about myself in the journal sounds great...Barb

    I journal my food every day here at spark....
    I also journal my feelings and reflection of the books i am reading... at least three times a week..
    I am reading Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult and Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren at the moment.
    I have changed many eating habits after seeing what I was eating..

    I eat more veggies( raw) then ever before and i measure and weigh all my stuff to get it as close as possible. I go over the 1550 regularly but I stay under 2000 I set a goal to be between 1250 and 1500 however I do not beat myself up if I go over.

    Last Doctors visit no sign of diabetes recheck again according to him in one year..
