Time to get Serious

Friday, February 03, 2012

I went to the doctor and I received my blood work back in December of 2011. It was not good, the doctor was so rude to me, he kept telling me that I made him look bad. I am weighing 176 lbs, high cholesterol over 300, blood sugar close to 300, thyroid levels to low. He kept telling me I was going to have a heart attack.
He even said you have no idea how many death certificates I have sign this month. I know I have not taken things serious and I really needed a wake up call. I was so angry with the doctor, but it pushed me to change things. The only thing I hate is the Vegan diet he put me on to lower the sugar levels. The doctor also put me on three different medications for the sugar, well it made me sick, so he had to reduse the dosage. So I called him this week and ask for a Endocrinologist which I am looking forward to seeing. I think my doctor made a drastic decision but it did make me change things.
So this is my story and I have started doing a dance exercise with my Wii and when it gets spring I will be walking. I go to my daughter's twice a week and I get on her treadmill. so I have made alot of changes and I am feling alot better. I am trying to drink more water also. i am keeping a log of my sugar counts and my food. This is a big change for me . I am trusting the Lord for 50 lbs this year and to keep it off.

A vegan diet is the best natural way to get your blood results in line and live a healthier life. I suggest reading a few books like the Engine 2 Diet, Eat to Live, McDougall Program just to name a few. Eating vegan will help reduce blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar and your weight. There is also a very good book called Becoming Vegan that helps with what to eat so that you get all the nutrients you need.

I agree I can do it and am doing it. I agree the Vegan diet is drastic. It is suppose to be temporary until my blood and cholesterol levels come down. the medicine has already brought the sugar levels down so much that now I have to be concern about it getting too low.

I think you should see a Registered Dietitian in addition to the endocrinologist. Your doctor had no business putting you on a vegan diet.
