Another Wild Sunday In The Boonies

Hubby and I were feeling very adventurous and kinky today. Kinky for people in my area is not kinky like people in Las Vegas or New Orleans. No offense to the people who live there, I know everyone there is not kinky but your cities are on practically every list of the most kinky cities in the U.S. so someone there must be kinky.............. whatever kinky is. Don't tell me. I really don't want to know. LOL. To clarify, kinky for my hubby and me usually means leaving the house on Sunday to do something besides work. LOL.
We decided to go to the Herb and Garden Show at the local mall where my son works. When I use the term mall I don't want to confuse you with a vision of a mall like you would see in a city. This isn't Mall of America. It's closer to a strip mall type thing than a typical mall. We have a Sears, Penney's, Peebles, a Hibbetts, Shoe Sensation, Bath and Body Works, Maurices. a music store, a couple of clothing stores, Subway, Asian restaurant, coffee kiosk, and maybe a couple of other cheesy stores. Plus a bunch of empty stores. One level. There is no Neiman Marcus, Tiffani's, Saks, Bloomingdales, Louis Vuitton, skating rink, food court, fountain.
We had never been to this show so we talked to our son about going as he was running the store he works at today. He was going to call us once he was at work to let us know about the show. Why? We have been to a mall before. We can handle ourselves. We don't need an escort. LOL.
Actually when anything goes on in our tiny town everyone shows up. If they were giving away discounted proctos everyone in the county would bend over and line up. LOL. The parking lot and mall was packed. I had never been to one of these shows before and always wondered what it was like. It was different. Sort of like a cross between a flea market, rummage sale, with a tiny bit of plant stuff thrown in. There was a guy there playing the banjo and his wife was playing a keyboard. It was the best thing to me. Not to shock anyone but I have a banjo, though I have not played it in years. LOL. We stopped in and said hi to our son. We didn't see anyone there we knew but saw our DISH provider and her mother entering when we were leaving.
Hubby would have purchased something for me but I only found a handful of things I really liked, mostly dishes, and I didn't need them. As I have stated before, I am entering into one of my minimalist phases. No, I am not returning to my days, like when my hubby met me, where I had minimal furniture, a 12 inch black and while TV, and no stereo, but I am reducing, reusing, recycling. I am not bringing anything into the house unless something is leaving it. And I'm helping stuff to leave.
We then went to Wal-Mart to get some spray paint and sugar free Valentine candy (hubby's idea) and to Lowes to look for some biological bug spray before we stopped at Burger King as we were starving. By the time we got home the day was over. We spent the rest of the day with Alpha Reekie. He demands attention. Hubby caught up on some paper work tonight.
I wanted to add that I certainly loved what everyone had to say about my no excuse blog. Trust me, I'm not being mean, I just hate to see people digging their own graves. I can't help it. I'm a nurse. I can't stand by and watch people commit suicide by food.
