To Join a gym or not to join???

Monday, February 13, 2012

I am trying to decide if I should join a local place that has a pool, nautilaus machines and other great fitness equiptment. I have a treadmill and a step up and many assorted dumbells and The firm dvds. It is only $65 and the membership would last until June 15th. I guess I feel guilty because I have not paid for the treadmill in full even though my sister and I are making great use of it. Any thoughts or suggestions? emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi Kitty: Why don't you switch it up and let me cash in the free 3o day one that I won. It will last you until our b-day and then join splash zone (you could ask for it for your b-day) and then that will ;last until July since it will be too hot in your house to exercise. he he he

THanks for the feedback. I am committed at home but don't want to get stuck in a rut . I do HATE packing bag and being out in the cold. I am going to think about it some more and keep my options open. VARIETY is the main thing too!!

I would enjoy the pool but for regular exercise I like being able to just get up and do it . No driving, don't have to fix my hair or pack a bag, etc. So my question would be motivated are to go enjoy the gym's facilities? What other considerations do you have to think about in order to get there? In the end, do what works for you.

    Good luck

I also have access to a treadmill, recumbent bike, yoga DVDs and a dog leash. But I wasn't using them. So I joined a gym up the street from me with my Christmas money from my Dad and I love it. There is no pool, but I go 6 days a week for more than an hour. Every waking moment of my life belongs to someone else - this is MINE. I can plan, dream, listen to music and just be with me for one whole blessed hour.

I understand feeling guilty about the machines you already have. And apparently you are using them. Only you can answer this, but this is my experience. emoticon
