Interesting afternoon. We left to go exercise the dogs. It was cloudy, and breezy, but no rain. We didn't get far when rain/sleet started to hit the windshield.
We saw that the Tehachapi Mountains had some snow.
After we exercised the dogs, and got back on the road we looked towards Leona Valley. It looked like it was starting to snow, so we decided to head out that way. The very top of the mountains were indeed getting a bit of snow.
There are colors all year long in this area. I just love it.
I don't know it the rain drops will show up in here. I was admiring the bushes for their color when the sun started to peek out from the clouds. The water drops were glistening on the plants, and the fence in the background. It was so pretty.
The reason we even stopped at this particular area? My Hubby saw a Red Tail Hawk in a tree. How??? He was driving. I didn't see it lol...
What a beautiful bird! Of course Alice was interested in what was going on.
We proceeded on, heading home, when we saw a rainbow. It wasn't real bright because the skies were still grayish, but we took a pic anyway.
We went to see if any ducks were out.
We think this is a Lesser Yellowlegs. Next time I go back I will get out the binoculars so I can see the bird better.
What wonderful pictures!! Your dog looks like a real cutie, too! I could sit and enjoy your pictures for hours! They are soooo good! Our red tailed hawks were out hunting today, but I don't have a great camera to try and capture them, plus they were in flight and let me tell you, they were really moving!! And screaming!! I guess they were hungry! hehe Have a great day! 2929 days ago
