Soggy Hump Day

We didn't get a lot of snow on Monday night but there was more accumulation than the only other snow we have had this winter. It didn't start until my hubby got off work Monday and there wasn't a lot when my son got off later. There was less than an inch by morning but the ground was covered. It was already melting when we got up on Valentine's Day and it all melted off.
My son was off work Valentine's Day and he and I had to clean the 6 pet cages, the bathroom, and vacuum. I had some work to do for hubby on the estate. We no sooner got done then it was time to fix supper. I made some things I had in the freezer as I didn't want to buy anything. I am using up a lot of things I have on hand. We had spring rolls, shrimp, rice, and Texas Toast. My son and hubby liked it. We had purchased some candy too - most of it sugar free. I ate it and the combo of it and the gluten tore my guts up. I cannot handle this stuff.
It was drizzling here today but it was above freezing so that's good. Tis what umbrellas are made for. LOL. I had an umbrella when I went outside. Poor Baby did not. The pretty girl was sitting in the rain by the side of her house looking for me. She got on her feet right away and watched me go to the road and put the food in our special place then watched me come back. I told her to go get her breakfast and she did. She is very polite and well-behaved and I wonder if she would even take the food if she didn't know it was meant for her. She certainly is not greedy or selfish. Whenever the neighbors had other dogs she would let them have the food. The neighbors other dogs were all males and she has outlasted all 4 of them - a chow, a blue healer, a beagle, and a mixed breed. She is a chow too but stays pretty close to home unlike all of them. She is smart and cautious. She doesn't bark unnecessarily. She's old and I tend to think she could be lonely but maybe I am just projecting my feelings onto her. They other dogs were always more flamboyant than her and I assume they hogged most of the attention. She reminds me of many women I know here - very low maintenance and loyal. Strong and self-sufficient. People ask why I do this. Sometimes Baby wags her tail at me. Not a crazy wag like a young playful dog but a friendly wag that says, "I like you. We are friends."
My son got to work days for a change and go to taekwondo after work. Hubby worked on paper work all evening for the estate. The list of things to do is getting smaller all the time.
