I called my eldest [Celeste] this morning. It is her 50th birthday. She answered the phone with/"don't say how does it feel to be half a century old. I love it!" Almost 22 years ago she called me with the same message! I said I was going to be nice and not say it. But, that her Dad said for me to ask her. She said her 25 yr. old daughter called her at 12:15 a.m. and asked her the same thing!

All was fine until she delivered the next 'blow'! She said she got her application for AARP, and, the AAA also sent her an application. And, as she said, now she can get her Senior Discount! I told her she didn't need to tell me THAT, that made me feel old. At which she got a good belly-laugh at my expense!!

Oh well, what can I say??

Have a good and safe day.
Hugs, Janet

It certainly gives one a different perspective being this age rather than the teens, 20's, and 30's! emoticon

    Older and much wiser! Chris

My oldest is 18 years my junor. He therefore watches his p's and q's. Whne I was 36 he was 18. When I turn 58 next year he will be 40 when I become 98 he will be 80. LOL

All the best to you and yours.

They do have a way of making us feel old. However, I am enjoying my almost old age. The best is yet to be.

Well...I can relate...when I hit 50 I felt pretty old but now that I am turning 55 I feel ancient. Wish all the people could get their senior discounts together at the same age....some say 55 some say 60 etc. How do you keep up?
Happy birthday and many blessings to Celeste!

I agree, SHERYLDS! They say kids are like walking calendars reminding us about our age.

I turned 50 a few months ago... my 58 year old sister asked me how it felt to be 50... to which I replied, "how does it feel to have a baby sister who turned 50?" lol

I figure I'm pretty much middle age... right between my parents' generation and my adult children's generation!

I really felt old when I got my Medicare Card but when I said to my grandson and his girlfriend both (16) did you hear that Whitney Houston died, they both looked at me and said "who was that" then I really felt old. emoticon

Don't feel bad. My middle daughter, who is slightly over 30, has already been getting stuff from AARP!

Happy birthday to DD! It was my 40th that nearly killed me. I kept thinking of that scripture that says that man(kind) shall have 75 years, and if God's grace is with them, 80 years. Then I would think, "My life is half over!" God pulled me out of it when He gently informed me, "After 40 years, they entered the promised land. The best is yet to be!" I entered the 40s with greater peace after that. Blessings to your day!

I really don't know what to say, I'm sure the laughing at your comment didn't help, anyway, one thing for sure, you are beautiful, age is only a number, so don't take to heart what happened, let's just keep sparking along getting as healthy as we can by eating right and exercising as much as we can. Actually doing all those right things makes us more youthful in the end, and that my friend is exactly where you are, your picture proves that. Keep up the good work, you are doing great! emoticon emoticon emoticon
