My Progress

Saturday, February 18, 2012

Well not very good so far is my progress but there is a little bit. I started this journey at 166# and now I am down to 160#. I seem to do a lot of fluctuating and still am doing a bit of mindless snacking. Sometimes i manage to snack on carrots and celery but sometimes that dern chocolate gets the best of me. I have been walking about 2-5 miles every other day with the dogs and then the treadmill the other days but I know I need to do more.
Currently I am unemployed and looking at everything. Oddly enough I was just turned down for a job because I am "too educated". He didn't want to spend the money to train me just to have me find another job. I suppose I understand that but it still hurts. It's almost like when I was just starting out in the workforce and they would say "you need experience" but I could never figure out how to get the experience without a job.

oh well C'est la vie!

May you all have a beautiful day!

Keep working at it - progress can be slow. Good luck on the job hunting - keep at it and the right job may be right around the corner.

Thank you for being my cheerleaders! This helps so much to vent and have people be there for me.
I know the progress is there it's just really hard to see just now.
I love to bake with dark chocolate but rarely eat it. It is too bitter for me.
On a good note I had 3 interviews today and am going to a job fair tomorrow. So I am crossing all my crossables. I'll let you know how it goes!

Hugs to all my Sparkly Friends!

6 pounds definitely counts as progress! Try adding in some strength training (push-ups and other calisthenics if you don't have dumbells etc) to give yourself a boost. SP has some great short workouts on the site. Just think, being employed gives you lots of time for yourself! ;)
Best of luck in finding a job AND in your health journey!

I totally agree with Kelly. I love chocolate, too, and eat chocolate that is 72% or higher in cocao content. Lindt makes some good stuff, and they have 72, 85, and higher. They are all good, and not overly expensive. Can also be found in your grocery store usually.

I had the same problem being a military wife. We moved around alot - every 2.5 years- and so I was always havering to start over again. I had a master's degree. Your "too educated rejection" was my usual rejection. Don't give up. I had one special boss tell me that he had over 500 applicants for my job, and he gave it to me for exactly that reason, and that it was one of the best decisions he ever made. I had absolutely no experience whatsoever for that job - not one iota. So don't give up! It will happen. Maybe do some creative thinking on how you can turn this response around in your favor . . .
    Good Luck!

Bella, sometimes there are other victories than the scale. Take a look at your measurements, how your clothes fit, HOW fit You are - that's a lot of walking, etc etc etc.
Do you like dark (70+ % cocoa)chocolate? Try it if you haven't, it costs more but a little bit goes a long way.

What is HR thinking??? It's a chance anyone they hire will bail after being trained. That's insulting. I remember being turned down for a job because the moRon felt I would find the job beneath me, my response was something like I wouldn't be wasting my time applying for this if I didn't have an interest in it. Lets be positive, things happen for a reason and a better one is on the horizon. emoticon

You have a great week yourself!
