Vegan Shakeology: Tropical Strawberry. My thoughts.

I tried the vegan shakeology: tropical strawberry on Monday 2/20/2012. This new flavor is pretty great if you like fruit smoothies. It is fine by itself or mixed with fruit. So far ive had it mixed with just water, mixed with frozen blueberries, and mixed with some frozen mixed berries (blackberries, rasberries, strawberries, and blueberries). I dont suggest the mixed berries if you are going out in public just because there are so many seeds.
Upon opening the bag you get this great fruity smell. One you look in the bag however, it a little odd to see this light tan-colored powder peering back at you(as if it has eyes). It does turn that luscious pink though one liquid is added. After my first taste of it, the flavor was excellent. There wasnt any sort of weird aftertaste like many experienced with the greenberry flavor. There is however a little bit of a chalkiness to it. Ive had it a couple more times since that first taste and I think that the flavor makes up for the fact that its a little chalky. Also, I like my shakes pretty thin, and i think the more water/liquid you add, the less chalky it will be. Ive had some protein shakes where i would describe their texture as chalky, and this isnt nearly as bad. I do think it has something to do with the vegan protein that they use.
