taking it easy

I have been hitting it pretty hard in the exercise department. I'm trying to use exercise as a way to help me with stress and other negative emotions. Sadness, loneliness, boredom, fear....and yesterday it caught up with me. My thighs were so sore I had a hard time sleeping last night. I suffer from leg cramps and no matter what I try they still happen. I have eaten more bananas, milk, I drink more than a gallon of water a day, I stretch, I massage, any way you name it I have tried it. My doctor has given me medication that made me feel worse. I have resigned myself to having cramps in my legs.
I was hoping that more exercise would mean better sleep....which I am very tired but can't sleep much from the pain in my legs. .So today I'm going to take it easy or at least try...I know resting is a part of a healthy lifestyle.
I also went back to my listing of positive things I did each day, some times we forget how much we do that is right, we tend to dwell what he do that is wrong.

One more kick I got today was the fact that my gear niece and her husband will be turning 40 this month....OMG how could that be sure took my breath away I remember when she was born, a whole other story but it seems like it was a few years ago but not 40, she has 4 children of her the years sure do fly by...I'm trying to get the most out of what I have left.
So yesterday it was 60 degrees at noon, sunny warm and 4 when I was going home it was snowing and 37....boy we get it all in the same day. Today is cold cloudy windy. The weather calls for 70 degrees by Tuesday, I can't wait.....I see the tulip and other bulbs are coming up, spring is all most here..

    It's a bummer when our bodies don't cooperate with what we want to do. But hey -- we're getting older so we need to be a little more careful with our overachiever activities. LOL!

    You always seem to be so good at thinking things out and being willing to try a different tactic! What a great quality!
    I have been getting leg cramps, as well as others I know. I wonder it they occur more as we age.

    okay my sis puts a white bar of soap in her bed by her feet --lol she swears by this for leg cramps.. I have shiling oil -- when I am so stiff or aching muscles along with leg or arm cramps I rub this on me at night if really bad then during the day too.. it is smelly but I like it and it takes the edge off ..
    If you have a chinese or asian store near you ask them if they have shiling oil .. It is in a little bottle in a little box .. I will not live without it..

    Hi Kitt, Sometimes in our quest for the gift of good health, we forget what is most needed and that is rest. I know that my therapists are always getting on me about it. I hope that your thighs and legs start feeling better soon. It is hard to sleep when we have that kind of pain. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. emoticon

    Take it east, Kitt. It doesn't help to over work yourself. I get leg cramps also or maybe it is restless leg syndrome. Miserable. Have a great weekend.

    Way to go on focusing on the positives kitt. I bet your body is telling you need a break every once in a while. Have a great weekend and I can not wait for spring either.
