Isaiah 55:8-12

Sunday, March 04, 2012

The Lord says, "My thoughts are not like your thoughts.
Your ways are not like my ways.
Just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Rain and snow fall from the sky
and don't return without watering the ground.
They cause the plants to sprout and grow,
making seeds for the farmer and bread for the people.
The same thing is true of the words I speak.
They will not return to me empty.
They make the things happen that I want to happen,
and they succeed in doing what I send them to do.
"So you will go out with joy and be led out in peace.
The mountains and hills will burst into song before you,
and all the trees in the fields will clap their hands.

I typically do a weekly wrap-up on Saturday's but I just couldn't do it today. I know nothing has changed so I just need to keep plugging along. So instead...sharing my random scripture for the day! The section I needed to hear tonight was "They succeed in doing what I send them to do." I know this is totally out of context but it spoke to me tonight in a way that reminded me I need to be on my knees continually about this weight journey so that He is guiding my path and I will be successful. I can't do it alone.

I think we are wise to realise that we need help with all that is good and valuable. It is perfectly okay to ask for help and to accept it. Sometimes choosing a goal is somewhat artificial, so we need to accept that it might take some extra time or we might need some extra personal growth. We can do this, we must be patient and we must base our choices and decisions on the love we have been blessed with. We can do this, one baby step at a time!

Best wishes to you, my friend!

We talked about accountability tonight at youth group. I need to be held accountable with my eating.

Just as God has a purpose for the things of nature that He created, He has a purpose for each of us. The amazing thing is that each person and each item of creation is different. We have a unique purpose for each of us!
