Went to My new specialist Endocrinogist

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Yesterday I had an appointment with my new endocrinlogist Diabetes and Thyroid doctor. I love this guy. He was not very happy with what my General Practioner did, he put me on a vegetarian diet and overdosed me on Diabetes medicine. Well I am off the Vegetarian diet He says a diabetic should never be on a vegetarian diet. I am off some of the Diabetes medicine and he is changing some of my other medicines. He made me feel so good when I left his office. So now I am back on track to a more healthy way of life.

Vegetarian diet does not have much protein and he said that diabetes need protein. Besides I hated the diet.

So glad you have found a doctor that is geared for your medical problems. GP's are good for many things;but some medical dieases meed specialists. When I became diabetic my GP said I'm sending you to see an endocrinalogist so you can get the bewst care for the diabetes. That was several years ago, he was such a wonderful doctor; who has now retired---it's going to take some time to feel super comfortable with the new lady Endo that replaced him. Naturally will give her a chance as she deserves me seeing her a couple of times before making a judgement. Hoping your new doctor will continue to get you feeling better with the changes he has made.

Good for you. I went to an endocrinologist for the first time about a month ago. He took me off an M.D prescribed medicine that was causing my mealtime coughing, so that's cleared up, and had me start keeping a food and exercise log. Spark People certainly helps with that! So far, my daily glucose checks are much better.

Good luck, and feel better soon. -- Claudia

Glad it went well! Interesting about not endorsing being vegetarian for a diabetic, not that I am, but I do love 'em.
