Isaiah 29:16

Monday, March 26, 2012

You have turned things around, as if the potter were the same as the clay.

Sharing my devotion by Beth Moore once again! It says...........

Please allow God to engrave this truth on your heart: liberty and authority always go hand in hand.

During the ministry of the prophet Isaiah, captivity was imminent for the children of Isreal becasue they had a serious authority problem. So he used the example of a marred piece of pottery to help them see this issue more clearly.

In essence, God was saying, "Let's get this straight: Me, God. You, human. Me, Creator. You, creature. Me, Potter. You, clay. You obey . . . not for My good but for yours."

This goes so well with my current reading in "Get Out of That Pit" also by Beth Moore. Last night I was reading that once I cry out for Him to help me I must then believe He will work. I need to remember... Him, God. Me, out of the way!

    Thank you for sharing Janet! This brings to mind the song "The Potter's Hand". It's one of the Praise Team's favorite songs. Have a great day!

    Fabulous! I love that out of the pit book.

    I am trying to start out my day by praying "let my life bring you glory today" Isaiah 26:8 is one of my new favorite verses.

    Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws;
    our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.

    Amen!! So true we often get in the way of God's work and just need to give Him the reins.

    Unfortunately we want to run our own lives and forget that God does it soooo much better!
