The Lord is close to the brokenhearted,
and he saves those whose spirits have been crushed.
People who do what is right may have many problems,
but the Lord will solve them all.
This verse was a wonderful find today after the conversation this morning with my dd during Sunday school. We discussed what can make some people bully others and then we delved into the kids that were causing her the trouble in her Sunday class. Praying it opened her eyes to the other side of bullying even though there is absolutely no place that it belongs. Anyway... the promise that the Lord will solve all of our problems was a much needed reminder and this is a verse I am definitely going to bring close to my little girls crushed spirit.
Next I thought I'd share some photos of things we've been up to the past week or so.
We actually had some warm weather and dd made good use of it by going on many bike rides.
A little later we were shivering from the rain and cold. What else would you do when locked inside but paint fingernails?!
I think ds enjoyed his just a little too much! His dad said, "That will be gone for Taekwondo tonight!"
We've continued with our unit study on China.
We even went to a local buffet. ds liked everything except the crab potsticker. dd only liked the hot tea, one type of the fried chicken and the chicken in the moo goo gui pan. It was fun!
We've had so many rainy days.... one day the cafe appeared in the living room.
As did the barnyard mud and manure in the garage.
When it had dried out a little ds had fun in the barnyard with the baby goats.
We took a field trip to the local wildlife refuge on Friday morning with others from the homeschool co-op. Thankfully the rain stopped for us!
ds enjoyed the "robots" out front that were actually Trash Monsters. Sad that there is so much trash left around.
And that evening the forsythia giant came tumbling down! In the beginning it was always gorgeous outside the kitchen window, but then came the starlings. They pick it clean every spring so I can't enjoy the flowers and then it grows so tall I can't keep an eye on the human kids in the barnyard so it was time for it to come down.
Before...and it should be in full bloom right now...
