I was doing awesome on SP back before Christmas.... I was on the South Beach diet and had lost about 15 pounds. But when I went to reintegrate carbs, I didn't keep track of how many carbs I was reintegrating and that combined with holiday dinners and parties, and no time to workout, I regained all of the weight I lost! About a month ago I saw down and set my plan up again. I decided to this time, not worry about carbs and just follow the SP nutrition counter and I like this much better. It is slow weight loss - disappointing compared to the dramatic drop with the South Beach plan, but I think it will be easier to maintain the good weight.

I also had to readjust my schedule to make exercise a part of my day. I totally let that get away from me, and I didn't even realize how far I'd strayed. I thought 'oh yeah, I haven't been to the gym in about a week' and in fact, it had been a couple months. I work three jobs and have various other commitments concurrently, and it is sometimes easy for me to lose track of time :) but anyway, I do best when I'm checking in here every morning and every night. The morning helps me get my mindset for the day, and the evening lets me total everything and end the day on a good note.

I still think the south beach plan is awesome if you have to lose weight fast for an event, but returning to a typical every day diet is difficult because I have to relearn all over again, what is healthy and how much I'm supposed to be eating. If I have to be at the beach in two weeks, I'd totally do the south beach plan :) but I like the freedom I get with the SP nutrition counter much better.

Hey thanks for the comment on my blog. At least you enjoyment of exercise going for you - so many people dislike it. I tend to like it when it's of the not-so-traditional form. (Example: you will never catch me doing aerobics, but you may catch me exploring a belly dancing class!) Three jobs is intense! You go girl!

I hate when that happens! But no worries, just hop back on (get it, Easter, bunnies) and you'll be fine. Slow is better in my opinion because it is also your time to learn to maintain.

I hear ya on the exercise, two years went by while I kept putting off finding activities here (I moved two years ago) and before I knew it, completely out of shape.

    We can do this! emoticon

I never heard of the south beach plan, but I never cared for any of those other diets and pills anyways. I always felt like they would only do good until you stop using or following their plans, which is mostly right anyways.

I love SP! I have had the most success with this! I love the spark points, and all the information that is available... I love being able to change up our pages based on our personalities and our likes and not feeling totally trapped by it. I love tracking my nutrition and fitness because I have never been able to keep it up with pen to paper. I am sure I will reach my final goals sooner than I think possible, and you will too!

    Good luck in your journey!
