Going back to what worked

Thursday, April 19, 2012

This morning as I worked out I decided to go back to some of the spark basics. I'm going back to keeping veggies cut up for easy snacks. I'm going to write down a list of at least 3 things I did well for that day.
I'm going to remind what has gone right.
I'm going to keep my focus on the 200+ pounds I have taken off and not the 10 I gained.....It will be 6 years that I found sparkpeople on the 26th......and almost 3 years I have kept 200 pounds off.

I'm also going to try my darnedest to go check out curves and try something different, I need more strength training and doing it at home has not be as good as I would like..

So once again it's about finding what works, then doing it. Making this work for me..This journey is about me, I am going to focus on NO MATTER WHAT, I WILL KEEP ME HEALTHY.....I WILL NOT LET ANYONE OR ANYTHING STAND IN THE WAY OF MY HEALTHY LIFESTYLE....

Have a healthy and happy day, find what works for you....YOU are worth it. too

I haven't been to Curves here..but did go while in Oklahoma & loved it..
Just the entire environment sends...Let's do this to your brain..
if one is close for everyday on the way home..that would be great..
the easier to get to the more likely you will go...just human nature!!
Maintenance is its own special world it are a strong person & have
achieved so much, I know you can hold the line & yet enjoy life...

I agree, to keep 200+ off for THREE years is awesome! I also think that going to what works is a sign of true wisdom. I know when I track my food and stay connected to SP, I do much better. When I slack off and do it on my own, I tend to gradually slip back.
I have been very happy seeing the success I am having the past few months.

You have done so great and you will continue to do so. Those ten pounds gained are very minute in comparison with the 200 + you have lost and I know you will get those back off in no time. You can and you will do it.

Good plan Kitt. Don't focus on what you have gained, but on your successes.

Great plan. I actually went all the way back to stage one for a couple of weeks when I needed to get back on track.

    I like your thinking today.
Focus on how well you have done ,make plans to use the tools you know worked for you.
    Yes I like it.

I tend to focus on what I didn't do or what I should have done, so I am going to
do this with you and get focused on what worked for me.

    Thanks Kitt.

    Hugs, have a great day.

emoticon on losing so much weight!! Your "back to what works" sounds like a good plan. I have gained weight since the holidays & am trying to increase exercise & eat better too.

    Good luck to us both!!

Having been in "regaining mode" more times than I care to admit, I think it's very important to keep the right mental attitude. Focusing on the 200 lbs you've lost is definitely keeping a positive perspective because, after all, that is an amazing accomplishment. You know that if you can achieve that kind of weight loss, 10 pounds is certainly doable. I also like the idea of writing down 3 things you did well during the day. In fact, I might borrow that one! I have a tendency to focus on what I don't do right, but I don't think that kind of mindset has been helpful to me in the past. Having done this before, like you, I know what works for me and what doesn't. This week, after months of arguing with myself, I decided to go back to Weight Watchers because that is where I had my success in losing weight. I need the structure and the accountability. For me, "doing it on my own," was just a euphemism for not doing it at all. So I applaud you for taking a hard look at everything you've done that's worked for YOU and applying yourself to that. I have total confidence that you will kick those 10 pounds to the curb in no time!
