The Fatties

Friday, April 27, 2012

It was cool again today. Part of the day was cloudy, part of it was sunny, and it rained some.

The indigo buntings are back.

Baby came running today when I called her to feed her. I'm so glad she can still hear me some.

My hubby, son, and I are all tired of the way our lives have deteriorated due to circumstances beyond our control. We all weighed ourselves and didn't like the results. Carb creep and calorie creep are taking a toll. We had a powwow tonight and are making plans to get more exercise in and eat better. Hubby and I have been walking every day again and I am getting all my exercise in. I am also slowly cleaning up my diet. It's not perfect. There is plenty of room for improvement but something has to give.

I caught up on outside chores today. And got some extra work in.

My son bought himself some new shoes and gave me an early Mother's Day present - a new pedometer! Another Omron. I love it.

Hope you like your new pedometer. I am always bad at wearing a pedometer cause I either forget to put it on till half the day is gone or I put it on but am afraid that it will fall off and I will lose it.

Your title drew me here...LOL! I do hope you, dh, and ds can get things under control again. You all have been under a lot of pressure with MIL being ill and then passing. Not to mention all the estate and BIL stuff happening. emoticon

That is great that you all are working together on this issue, it is better than being the only 1 in the family.
    Have fun with it!

When I saw your title the Fatties I thought it might be one of those sci-fi movies (haha). You are not fat! Congrats to you and your DH for getting back on track. With the work and the stress you have been doing something has to give.

How are you feeling? Are the MRSA symptoms subsiding?

I hope that you enjoy those indigo buntings. I haven't seen one in years. They are beautiful. I love to watch the birds. Would like to get better at drawing them, though. I am breaking out my paints so maybe I will get a few bird paintings in this summer. Would be nice.

I am glad you have gotten back to walking. It is so refreshing to go out and walk. Sorry for the poor weather you have had lately. It has been on the cold side around here. Though today was in the fifties so I am glad about that. Got out for a walk in the field by my friend's house. That was nice. Watching her dog play was lots of fun. They live near a Christmas tree farm. It is fun to see the seedlings grow.

Hope you have a delightful day tomorrow. Sending love your way....hoping there is sunshine and peace visiting your Sunday.

    Yours, Karen emoticon

Morticia, I saw an Indigo Bunting about 3 years ago at my bird feeder, but haven't seen one since. They are so beautiful.

Well you know I am starting over again, so we can do this together!... A pedometer is on my wish list, have fun with your new toy, I can't wait to hear how many steps you take!

It will happen, be patient and just take it one second, one minute, one hour, one day at a time. I believe in you and I am rooting for you emoticon emoticon

It's wonderful that your family is working together like that. My husband certainly cheers me on but he has MD and difficulties with any type of exercise. My brother and sister like to just sit and watch me the whole while wondering why they are each about 100 pounds overweight. But I did get my niece involved! :) I'm so excited to see her change her eating habits and start walking on the treadmill. It can be something so simple but a support structure you can lean on at home is a HUGE deal. :)

I have also made a commitment to myself to track food and stay in cal range with low carbs. Right now I have a chest cold so if I can force myself to do a WATP that would be very helpful...however we are also having guests for dinner, so need to work on the house and some food.

I love my OMRON, wish I still walked to work.

I recently did a reality check, too; stupid calorie creep! Can we report it for skulking?
