Getting Back on Track

Sunday, May 06, 2012

It's been a crazy past year, as I've blogged about before. So crazy I had to make tough decisions, and leaving Spark People for a year was one of them. Luckily I had a personal trainer and I was able to at least maintain my weight. He knew I was busy and stressed and had a lot more on my plate then I needed so he was happy to help me maintain and build a little more strength. Every little bit helps!

Right now, my husband is back from Afghanistan and I am almost done with my Masters degree (I graduate mid-June). My Pure Romance business has taken off and I'm comfortable enough with what I've done to not be so busy and involved in a lot of the admin stuff now since it comes more naturally, so I'm looking at enough free time to start Sparking again!!

My first plan of action is to start getting back on Spark people regularly. It is not a habit for me to come here daily, and I still have trouble remembering to log on, but today is the day I decided I will make a great effort to log on. I'm going to make little changes to diet and exercise again, but I'm not going to beat myself up for what I do and don't do. My goal is to log onto Spark People for at least 6 out of 7 days a week for the next 2 weeks. I will keep this goal until I am regularly logging into Spark again. I will consciously be focusing on increasing my water intake, which has gotten all wonky on me. I will be focusing on recording the food I eat, but not necessarily changing too much. I want to see what I'm eating and then decide on the changes I need to make from there. I don't want to change too much all at once. I'm also going to work on exercising a bit daily, but again I don't want to make too many changes here to overwhelm myself. Bigger diet and exercise goals will come a little later as I get back into my Spark lifestyle.

I can't wait to get started and I hope my body and mind decides to work together to get me going on these goals faster!! Motivation has been lacking a lot lately, and if I can get it going I think I'll do better, faster.

Your plan of action sounds very well thought out. So good to have you back on SparkPeople.

Congratulations on being so close to completing your Master. emoticon What a relief it must be to have your husband out of Afghanistan. Your life seems to being all coming together.

Sounds like you have been *VERY* busy with your studies and your business... and what a joy to have your hubby home!

Welcome back. I do know the commitment it takes to log on daily... I was having a *really* hard time remembering to log in on a daily basis until I put SparkPeople as on of my home pages... so every time I open my browser it stares me in the face.

    Good luck on your goals!!!
