In September, my wife's mother passed away on our son's birthday - he turned 15, a very touchy time in a young man's life.
I told him that now he and his Grandma SHARE a birthday -- his is here, but Grandma is having her birthday in Heaven. That helped Josh understand the situation better, and eased his loss.
Holidays - birthdays - Mothers' Day - all of these times are reminders when there's one less chair at the dining table, or one less person to plan for. But we are reminded that the reunion, when we see our loved ones again, will be worth the wait!
