I'm getting ready for Monday. I don't want to say Monday is my start day because I know I'll over indulge this weekend and that never helps. This week we had a party at my daughters last girl scout meeting and the next day I felt like crap. This is what pizza and make your own sundaes do to me. They make me not feel well, not exercise well and have no energy. It's important for me to remind myself of that because I need to be on top of my game next week.

I've basically been fighting with the same 20 pounds for the last two years. I'm not going to say this is my last ditch effort because I know it won't be. But I'm determined to give this effort everything I've got. I don't want to fast forward six weeks from now and say "If only I hadn't" or "If only I had"

I'm starting boot camp Monday. Now those of you that know me know fitness is not my issue. I love to exercise, I love to run, I love to spin, I don't like Pilates, but I still do it. I have so many strength training DVDs I love to do I can't name them all. Nope fitness is not the issue. Eating is.

This trainer that is teaching the boot camp has already told me that I'm probably working out too much. I know this to be true. Working out does so many postiive things for my head that medication, alcohol and smoking used to take care of, I've come to rely on the exercise to 'get me through it'

Tomorrow I will take my measurements. Sunday I'll make my meal plan for the week. I plan to track, stay within my range and eat clean so that I'll be the best boot camper I can be.

I'm concerned about my lunch hour at work though. That is always spent exercising. It breaks up the day, it energizes me to get through the afternoon and evening madness at home. So if I go to boot camp for an hour in the morning, what am I going to do at lunch?

My friend just sent me this picture of my latest race, actually a picture of myself I thought 'wasn't so bad'. I thought about it and realized it's the first race I ran without glasses, I had lasik surgery in February and part of the reason for doing it was I hated running with my glasses on.

I agree with the sparkers that said to walk at lunch! It will still energize you and break up your day without risking over exercising.

Boot camp sounds great and i'll be rooting for you to kick those 20lbs to the curb!

You can always do something like go for a comfortably brisk walk at lunch - still refreshing without being a heavy workout.

You could think of the weekend as a dry rehearsal. Practice the various changes you want to make without any pressure.

no clue for your lunch hour...but maybe just a gentle easy walk?? you're still getting fresh air which can be very invigorating for the afternoon.

I am the same with eating. I got the exercise thing down.

Maybe, at lunchtime, you can go to a park and read a book/magazine. I used to do that and it was pretty refreshing.
