I spent the last 5 months training for a marathon and working a lot. I did not eat well, and did not actually get in all of my scheduled runs. Not surprisingly, my marathon did not go that well yesterday. However, I did finish it and I'm very proud of that.
Now it's time to refocus. I need to get back on track with the weight loss and food tracking. I updated my weight today to what it actually is. You know how when you are losing weight you are so quick to update sparkpeople, but when you put some back on, the updates don't necessarily happen? Well that's where I've been basically since December/January time frame when I gained 8-10 pounds.
So now my lapse is out there and I can get back to work on moving the scale in the other direction. I also took measurements everywhere so I would have concrete numbers to work with. I already knew I had gained some inches in various places since my clothes are tight, but now I can quantify it and be able to track my progress back down. After all, we can't build a road map to anywhere if we don't know where we are starting.
My goal is to get rid of 31 pounds in the next 17 weeks. This just happens to coincide with my next scheduled half-marathon. I will continue to run 4 days a week, but I will also be adding some strength training 2-3 times a week.
