An hour a day is not too much

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

I have been doing a moderate/fast hour a day on the treadmill for 3 weeks, but I have gained weight!! I think I will do more intervals of fast and slow. I do a little yoga every day, and weight training 2 or 3 days a week so I am fairly active.

Not uncommon to gain some weight when we first start to exercise. (Mostly water) this can last for about 2 to 6 weeks.

The one time I was able to lose weight it took 90 min. seven days a week for three months and constant snacking on baby carrots or vegetables between meals to keep my blood sugar from crashing. I have not been successful with weight loss since even though I am very active, lots of fast walking at work, biking, jogging, keep two homes going for my adult son who was hurt six years ago in a MVA and 3 kids in college! I know stress can cause cortisol like effects and make it even harder to lose weight so what is the answer........ 90 min seems almost impossible and 30 min. not enough for weight loss. emoticon I just turned 50 and hot flashes are making my sleep poor I need to make health a priority and I even ride my bike to work when I can. Fun fitness works sometimes for me. I play tennis and practice my serve when my partner is not available I let the dog fetch a few for me until I start serving hard and fast and that ruins it for him! Thanks for listening...... Have a great evening.
