Rock it! Week 2!

Week one went well for me. I got in the workouts I planned and I ate pretty well(with the exception of 4th of July-eek!). I ended up with a gain, but I did more strength training this week than last week, so I think it's my body just trying to adjust. I keep telling myself that if I just keep doing what I'm doing, the scale will go back down eventually.

I'm starting to walk every night for 30 minutes with my mom. So, on my rest days I'll still be getting in my walk. My mom is just getting back in to exercise after being out of commission for the past 8 months, so we're taking it slow for now. There's a park near me that has a 1/4 mile track around it. We did a mile last night and we're going to add a lap each time we go, depending on how she feels. We've signed up for a 5k walk in October that will be fun. We get to decorate pink bras and wear them outside of our shirt. We even named our team the "Pinkerbells"! I can't wait!

I've really been thinking about the changes I have made since starting SP and how it has helped with my weight loss.
#1-I always track my food. I have not missed a day of tracking since I have started-good or bad. I make much better decisions when I see what I am really putting in my body.
#2-I eat breakfast every morning. I either have oatmeal or eggs(or sometimes both!). I just recently started eating oatmeal and I've found that it really fills me up and gives me a great boost to start my day. I never ate breakfast before I started SP. I can't go without it now! I get super cranky and end up overeating throughout the day if I miss breakfast.

Starting small is what really got me to where I am now. I started little things like tracking my food and eating breakfast and turned them into habits. It's second nature for me now to do both.

    I love the name "Pinkerbells". That is so cute!! Thank you for doing the 5K! As someone with multiple family members (great-grandma, grandma, and mom) who've battled breast cancer, I always appreciate those who walk in awareness raising events.

    Great job on tracking everyday!! That is awesome! I don't think you're going to find too many people who can say they've actually tracked everyday. I know I can't say I have.

    Pinkerbelles, so cute! It really is all about making small changes! When you first start you think that can't possibly be all there is to it and that you'll have to essentially kill yourself in order to reach your goal. But now that I have done this long enough to know better, I'm amazed at this truth. Such an easy concept!
