Don't let anyone tell you Arizona doesn't get humidity. It's true we don't have it long, and its really to dry here in all respects. But from the end of June thru end of Aug we have MONSOONS. Right now at 6 pm it is only 93 because the clouds are building for another dropping at once amount of rain. The humidity is 47% so far. Yesterday four cars were caught or swept away in our streets, and all the streets looked like rivers. One person died. The rain comes so hard and fast the ground cannot absorb so it runs off. Sweeping people, cars, and anything outside into it's downhill path. The lightening is phenomenal. Most of us love the storm, because we get RAIN. We average 3 inches a year. Last nite we got 2.8 in what...... an hour or so? Last nite the water filled my patios and was at the doors, I hope this monsoon will be a little less violent. Oh, and the winds are 65 to 70 MPH. during the average storm. Now you've had a lesson in Monsoons

Wow Debby, I had seen the news/weather and saw pictures of what was happening in your area and was very concerned about you!!! So glad YOU are ok!! Wow, water right to your door? This is my FIRST monsoon season for AZ, being from Idaho, the houses are built up off the ground lots more, this place we are living is FLAT on the ground, so I can see WHY the water could get in so easily. The lightening was fantastic, scared my kitty's though...haha In Yuma, we got 1.5 something, so the area I live in was ok. There was some flooding in downtown Yuma. THANKS for the 'goodie' exercise equipment - yes, I should be able to start 'easy' exercises this coming week. Let me know how you are doing!!! emoticon

Almost sounds like the hurricanes that we get here in Florida but it does not go away in a few hours. More like days and the winds can be real strong.
