I've gained about 5 pounds back over the last week or two. I've been snacking a lot in the evenings in front of the tv! Shame on me. There are just so many yummy vegan snacks like those Trader Joe's peanut butter filled pretzels...omg...so gooooood.

Anyway, I'm not as devastated about it as I thought I'd be. I thought if I gained some weight back I'd beat myself up about it. Instead I have a plan. I'm going to try a vegan protein bar in the late afternoon/early evening to see if that helps.

So yeah...I gained a couple pounds back but it's no biggie. I feel strong and healthy.

It's a bummer about the weight, but at least you recognize why it happened and what to do for it. A plan is always good. :)

I use nutrition/protein bars once in a while when I'm out and about so I'm not tempted to stop at a fast food place for a snack or something. When I'm watching TV (esp since the Olympics just started!), I usually have a glass of water next to me and drink that to keep my mouth busy. I know, it's cliche, but it works.

Good luck on losing the 5! You can do it!!!

You've got the right attitude! to gain and lose is natural but, how we respond and take action makes all the difference. You're looking great!!!!

Good for you for not beating yourself up over the gain. Some people just seem to lose it when they gain a little. Like BLUE42Down said, it's always helpful when you know what triggered it. If nothing else, Sparkpeople helps us to realize what we are doing and if we track everything we can always look back and see what did or did not work for us. Best of luck with trying to curb the evening snacking!

I think it really makes a difference when we ~KNOW~ why we gain or plateau. It's easier to say "this caused it, so I just have to stop or change this" - to see cause and effect.
