Woke up late, got out of the house 30 minutes late, Get there check in Rich never filled his form out, NO-ONE had an ink pen took 5-10 minutes for him to get an ink pen to sign the waiver. Johnathon's time chip was broke had to stand in line to get another one...Our wave started at 9:30 it's now 9:22 and he is in line waiting! Johnathon had to make his way to the front he is going for time and there's who knows how many people in each wave I think 500. He fought his way to the front. Rich, Kennedy and I just stayed in the back. First you have the mile run, no biggie. First obstacle is the one I struggled with last year so I was happy to do this one first and get it over with. I did it with ease so I was so happy, more running then next up was a water one. The volunteer's told Rich if he can't swim he needed to walk around the lake-pond whatever it was. He waited and helped others out of the water while Kennedy and I swam, pulled ourselves up on the obstacle...that was hard I couldn't pull self up on it. I boosted Kennedy up shoved her booty up there and then she helped pull me up on it, walked across it and then have to jump into 10-12 ft of water and swim to the other side. Rich helped us up and then more running. Get to the 3rd obstacle did it no problems--crossover, you had to walk across ropes that are squared off, not sure how to explain it, but it was easy. getting on, getting off of this one WAS easy. I'm coming down the make shift ladder I think it was 3 planks of wood to step down onto. MY last--LAST step my foot slipped. It slipped toward the back and I scraped my shin bone, no big deal. It stung but ok, let me walk it off, shake my leg out. I'm good, lets go! Get to obstacle #4 and it's burning and stingy and throbbing. I hadn't even looked at it at this point. You know how you sometimes might get a little cut and you dont know it until you see it and then it hurts....well I kept saying, don't look and it won't hurt shake it off etc...We get to obstacle #4 and like I said leg is stinking, and more throbbing than anything. I look down
O-M-G! Not only is it scraped up from the wood but above it my vein is totally bulged out about 1/2 inch to an inch. I lift my leg up so Rich could see and I asked him..."is this a bad thing"? I hear from people around me WHOA!! You better get that looked at. I'm kept saying I'm fine, I feel fine. I dont wanna quit. Rich and Kennedy both are pleading me with to have it looked at. Its on the vein and Kennedy of all people say Mom you have had blood clots what if this turns to a blood clot. Then Rich is like what if this gets bigger, what if it gets cut open, blood thinners its on a vein. I said okay, go get the medic. I was carted off to the EMT tent and had to watch Kennedy and Rich come in without me. Totally sucked, sucks! Here's Kennedy and I before Warrior Dash
Kennedy going through the mud pit at the end
Then my 3 Warriors. Johnathon finished 2nd in our heat in 25 minutes we dont know the exact time yet
EDIT**
A picture of my leg....hard to see the swelling though and the picture was taken about 2 hours later after much of the swelling had already gone down. The picture really doesn't show it at all. It's there. Now that it's about 7 hours later the leg hurts after I sit for awhile and get up :(
