Just too hot!

IT'S TOO HOT TO GO OUT! emoticon emoticon emoticonSO I'm staying indoors near my one AC when on the computer, and near the fan when I go into another room to watch TV. What I'm really doing is hibernating because of the heat. I get to the middle of the afternoon with all the best intentions and then I get REALLY HUNGRY, like now. I had two smallish breakfasts, and a late lunch, and healthy snacks up until it seemed to be time for my sugary ice cup. The trick now is to go away from the kitchen/dining room area and watch TV and take a short nap. I have so much time on my hands right now, and crocheting just isn't doing it for me.
It's a perfect time to read but I want to be more active, and reading isn't the way. I did my little morning exercising- while-seated, and may pick up some stretch equipment when I leave this room to go by the TV. I miss seeing my friends because we're all hibernating from the heat and not going out.
On the positive side, I'm getting lots of rest, catching up on the wash, have the beginnings of a very attractive striped winter scarf, and half a crocheted vest in the works.
I need to promise myself and all of you right now, that I'm going to eat a sensible points conscious healthy dinner, with nothing except water until mealtime. A person could put on a hundred pounds just sitting indoors in the summer!! At least I can have a decent showing at the scale next Wednesday when I get together with humans again! Even the two grey kitties haven't been around in the heat.
Sorry about this negative exchange.Try to think of it as a stream of consciousness on the way to a positive mindset. Thanx Sparkers! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Here in CA our Summer hasn't been too bad yet. But on Monday it's supposed to be near 100! I hate it when it gets that hot and I become a "slug". I do have Central Air but when it's 100 all it seems to do is make it barely bearable. My Unit isn't as big as it should be but my electricity bill is huge during the Summer months. August and Sept. are usually our hottest months here. . .I'm already looking forward to the Fall weather. . .I hope it cools down there for you so you will be more comfortable and can move more and enjoy being out!

I would just croak if we didn't have central air. Our house is an old 2 story and the AC doesn't really get to the upstairs very well, which is where we sleep. Some nights it is pretty miserable, but we manage. The high humidity and heat can really throw us into a mixed up mess sometimes. Hope it's getting better for you now!! emoticon Think cool!!!

Heat really gets me, too. The older I get, the more I can't bear up.

I hate hot, humid weather too. I go from fan to fan, keep the windows and drapes closed during the hottest hours. Only saving grace is that I don't get as hungry in the summer, and I eat lots of salads and fresh fruit.

Hang in there; it will be getting cold again before we know it.

It's only August. And think about it! In 6 months it's going to be about 70ยบ cooler. Then it will be too cool to go out.

    Just saying. emoticon
