An AHA!! moment!

Last night my husband and I were listening to a friend of ours go on about her struggles losing weight. My husband made the comment to her that losing just 5 pounds a month would result in 60 pounds in a year. I thought to myself "Arggghhh! If I had followed that simple little bit of advice a year ago I would now be at the weight I am striving for."

Instead of looking at the 60 lbs which seems like an insurmountable amount of weight...if I just break it down to 5 lbs a month it seems do-able. So the lightbulb has been lit and I am going for it.

    5 lbs a month is 1.25 pounds a week. Think about it!

    I find that I have to look at the little close goals to be successful. The best thing is they add up to large exciting goals over time. I take the time to visualize what I am going to do each day fore only that day.

    Thanks for sharing this! I have about that to lose but always look at as insurmountable and give up after a month or so. It's the tortoise mentality that works. Now, patience (and consistency) is the key.
