Wow, I hadn't realized how long it has been since I wrote anything here. Life just gets in the way and I am more settled and happier since I moved here June 1, '11. It took a lot of adjustement moving to this tiny place, shedding more stuff that I accumulated, didn't really need but thought I did. The extra money left over every month has been hard to believe and I finally started buying myself some necessary (to me) things: new microwave, coffee pot, digital food scale, shoes, bras, jeans, sewing machine (not necessary but I wanted a better one). I have plenty of clothes that were given to me that I can now wear because I am payiny more attention to what I am eating and tracking calories.

The last two weeks have been torture. I went to Urgent Care twice and my doctor once and am finally almost healed. I was diagnosed with a yeast infection (where that came from God only knows because I take no medications or antibiotics). I was allergic to the meds, then had to take more to counteract the allergies. I thought I was going to itch to death. I never left my apartment for ten days, sleeping a lot during the day because sleep at night didn't happen much. Tuesday I ventured out to Walmart to get dairy products, tums, itch creams and some fruits. Residents kept checking on me so that made me feel good. I'm feeling stronger everyday and got my appetite back, lost three pounds that I was trying to do anyway so that was all right.

Yesterday I went visiting to my old apartment building, got to look at the things Elinore has crocheted with the yarn I gave her, then visited with a couple more friends in their apartments so it was a long day and I was pretty tired when I got home, but it was a good tired feeling. This morning I finally woke up at 10 after waking up a couple times during the night and reading for a while.

Today I am going to make a pot of chicken vegetable soup so I can take some to my friend who is recooperating from shoulder surgery. She has a caregiver a few hours a day and sometimes her son makes dinner for her but she said mostly at night she doesn't eat anything because there is nothing ready to heat up. She is limited with what she can eat, like cottage cheese and yogurt because she can't have milk products. She can't drive right now so she is stuck.

Until next time..........................

The sun is out again today so it will be a good one.

It's amazing how one issue creates another. Glad life is getting better. It's hard to transition into new places but you are doing well. Happy for your weight loss!

Keep up the good work. The Cotillion is a national event that makes money from parents like myself and others who want our children to be more social and show proper ettiquette. It's nice but a truly expensive endeavor when you add everything up.

Thanks for your comment and have a great weekend! emoticon

I've missed your posts Brenda. Sorry you haven't been feeling well, glad you're on the mend. On a recent visit to CA to visit my Daughter and Grandkids, I looked for apartments to live in similar to what you describe. I was thinking about you while on my tours. They have 3 to 5 year waiting lists. I guess it will be awile yet before I move. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your neighbor.

Sorry you haven't been feeling good lately. Hope you are on the mend now and things look up for you.

It's nice that you went back to your old place and visited with friends.

How nice of you to take soup to your friend who is recovering from surgery. I'm sure she will be appreciative of your efforts.
