I'll admit it, I'm queen of poor time management, then I have no idea what kept me so busy all day long! My biggest time waster is Facebook, however I'm getting better at just getting off it and doing something else. I have a computer addiction, so to help get me off of social media, onto something more productive I've started writing a novel. I can't wait for it to be a best seller so you all can enjoy it too! Now, this has just taken me from one sedentary task to another...right? Sort of. Now when I get writers block or need a break I can just take some time to exercise for the day.
My kids are another time waster...ok, not in the appalling way you might be thinking. I have a 2 and 4 year old, both are very demanding on my time. It seems like any time I sit down to do something for me, such as cook healthy or exercise, they need me again. I love that they need me and I love doing things for them, but because they are so demanding I've found myself taking on a self defeating perspective and that feeds into the previous time waster of facebook. If I'm doing something mindless when they come get me, then it's not as frustrating because I don't have to gather my wits to start all over! So, what I'm doing to resolve this is to schedule my time better with them. I'm going to stay focused on activities with them, giving them my full attention through more of the day (which will automatically happen on Monday when we start official homeschooling!) and then hopefully this will allow them the attention they need so they can play independently for longer periods of time, giving me more chunks of time to get what I need done!
TV? Honestly, this isn't a problem for me. I watch 1, maybe 2 shows in the late night. After all of the food and too late that I don't want to exercise. This is my wind down time where I crochet and work on promised projects for other people. In other words, I'm not worried about my TV watching. I'm not addicted and I can get by over a week or more with no TV.
Those are my time wasters, let's see if I can get things turned around!
