Over Coming Obstacles

Monday, September 10, 2012

Over the weekend my husband found out that his grandmother on his dad's side of the family passed away. He spent most of yesterday trying to figure out a way to get back up home, which is about a 3 hour drive, and not leave me and the kids without a car. Oh the joy of only having one vehicle. We finally decided for him to just take the car since he will only be gone over night at the most. And I'm sure that if anything comes up here at home while he is gone that there is someone I can lean on to help me out. It's one of the perks of being apart of the military community.

Here comes the obstacle: my workout. I have a few options to choose from. One being skipping my workout tomorrow and pick back up tomorrow. Two being workout at home (which I can't stand to do, since going to the gym is the only time I leave the house on most days). Three, walking to the gym. I don't mind walking to the gym since it's only about 1.25 miles from my house and I can make it in about 20 or so minutes. The obstacle coming from that is trying to cross the road from which my housing is to the main base. It's a major road that stays busy all day during the week. I

I think I'm going to give it a shot to walk to the gym tomorrow. I'm busting my hump trying to get out of the 180's and I'm so close (at least I think I am since I'm a bit bloated right now from TOM), I don't want anything to stop me.

Another a good note: I made a goal of going for a run of 8 miles total. I planned it out to do 5 miles outside and the last 3 on the treadmill. After I finished the first 3, my mind wanted to shut down and that was an obstacle that I overcame. Go ME!!

So here's to a great Tuesday!!

Later Dayz!!

Way to go on the eight miles! That's impressive! As for the workout today, you can even find a way to get your kids involved - play tag or hide and seek! Or, take a family walk on the more quieter roads. Proud of you for choosing to find a solution to the obstacle. emoticon

I like your second two options better than the first, but that is just from personal experience of a justified "skipping" the gym seems to make it easier to skip again and again....well, you get it. And you are right, if you are so close, keep it up!

Congrats on overcoming the obstacle of your own brain. Sometimes that is the hardest one!
