Day 56

Saturday, September 22, 2012

The last two weeks have been "marching in place". I was feeling very worn out and I was struggling to have enough energy to exercise. I decided to take a break from weight loss and I am feeling much better. The scale says that I have gained two pounds but I always gain a couple or more pounds when I stop eating weight loss level calories. So for me I would say that I am basically maintaining.

I have had a couple of challenges come up and I am glad that I was not trying to lose weight. It was nice to be able to eat more as I still find eating comforting. Fortunately my challenges are just opportunities to grow and learn. I may be 65 and wish I had everything "together" but I don't. I am still learning how best to deal with "stuff."

We are off in three weeks to North Carolina for the christening of our first great-granddaughter. We we be seeing her for the first time and it will be a happy time. The travel itself is not my favorite thing but it will go well. When we get home we have medical tests for DH.

Yesterday and today went well with both exercising and food. I ate at weight loss level calories and did 15 miles on the bike yesterday morning. This morning I played pickleball right after I fell while walking our dog. The sidewalk was wet as it rained last night and I slipped. I am OK but my right knee is skinned up pretty bad. I am a bit achy tonight but expect that I will be OK in the morning.

I am having a really fun winning streak at Friday bridge. In the last eight weeks I have won 6 times and came in second twice. It feels really good to see that my work to improve my game is paying off.

Today as everyday I am blessed and highly favored and I thank God for everything.
