Blood Drive

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

Well I found out today that there is a blood drive just down the street from where I work and is open until 6pm. I am hoping that after work they can fit me in other wise I will just have to wait until next time. I have to get on their mailing list! I have not donated in about four years since I moved to be with my husband. I'm glad that I have now found a place that does drives on a regular basis and it's so close. I feel the need to help someone and this is a great way yo do it! I encourage everyone to find a Blood Drive near them and donate. Every donor counts! emoticon

I was so happy to be able to give back. I was not able to complete my donation fully because of my blood clotting about 3/4 the way through. I can't wait until the next time. It makes me feel good that I can make a difference for someone else. I am hoping that I can give as much as possible. I met a young lady that has set the goal to donate 25 Gallons! That is the type of young adults we need! I hope that she can make that goal. I am no going to look up the next drive so I can continue to help! emoticon

I also found out something good about the blood drives where I live. My church does blood drive 3 to 4 times a year. And where I work does it as well. Usually I have to make a choice as where to go because they usually are close enough together and I can not do both due the 8 weeks rule between donations. Well, I got a card in the mail that the church next drive is October 17. When I got to work I look up the next one scheduled. Guess what! It is exactly 8 weeks (Dec. 12). Yep, I can do them both. I am now working towards my 9 gallons. I hope I can make it to 10 gallon before I need to quit giving for whatever reason.

Glad you are able to get back to giving. It seems that blood demands tend to be higher than what can be collected. Every drops counts towards saving lifes. emoticon for giving!
