Day 67

Thursday, October 04, 2012

Today I weigh 145 exactly. This was my goal weight in 2010. It is wonderful to be back here. At this weight I can actually feel that I am smaller. At this weight my problem areas (legs, knees, midriff) are actually getting smaller. I am very pleased with my progress.

I am starting a 5% challenge on Saturday and will be working on losing an additional 7 pounds. That will take me to my new goal of 140 and then under a couple of pounds. This is the plan but I am going to be realistic and stop losing when it feels right. I want to be able to eat a reasonable amount of food on maintenance. I am reading too many posts where folks cannot eat more that 1500 calories to maintain. I want to be able to eat more than that and I do a fair amount of exercise so I should be able to do so.

One day at a time, one step at a time--for perhaps the first time ever I am actually not in a big hurry. I am in this forever and successful maintenance is the real goal.

I am committing myself to weighing regularly, tracking food and exercise regularly, and continually learning how to maintain successfully.

I am greatly blessed and I appreciate SP and all the wonderful folks here. I am looking forward to reading all of your posts when you too reach goal.

WOOHOO!!!! Congrats on hitting your goal. I so understand how you are feeling right now. That is exactly how I was feeling when I hit even 186 pounds! I turned a corner in my life and realized that it wasn't all about a number, it was more about how I felt. I am very doubtful that I will ever be in a healthy bmi range even, but I am okay with that. I can run 5+ miles a few times a week, I can shop in the regular section, I am learning a lot about myself all the time. I try new things. I LIVE MY LIFE. That is our goal here. I read the same thing about maintenance, but I am sure your activity level plays into factor here. I just hit maintenance recently and I am upping my calories by 100 each month to see where I will level out. SP recommended actaully that I was eating 1900-2200. I just can't up it that much right away. I am doing pretty well with the 1400, but upping my calories has always been a problem wifor me since I want to fill it with healthy foods and it is hard since I am never really hungry and always feel like I ate enough for meals. WE GOT THIS!!!! Congrats again!
