**The Doctor Visit**

It was a very good thing we had prepared Isaac for his flu shot because it did help some when the time came for that. It was still a battle, but nothing like usual. The downside was we found out that he did need a vaccination so there was to be a second one. I couldn't hold him on my own and thankfully Doctor Tom heard the commotion and came in to help us out. He had Isaac sit on his lap and then he just held him down and I tried to calm him. Finally got it and the tears were just flowing (from Isaac, me and the doctor). Just prior to that the doctor had said such kind words to me regarding how God placed this child in the right home and that we have saved him with homeschooling. He said that the changes in his social skills were amazing within one year without any therapies. So at this point he understood that this shot "mess" was totally the autism and when he saw me with Isaac right after the last shot was done he started tearing up. I had picked up this 66 pound, 4 1/2 ft tall boy in my arms easily to hug him tight and tell him he had done his best. Isaac did thank Doctor Tom for helping too which amazed everyone. I must remember to draw on those kind words when I'm at the place where I'm just feeling so defeated. We did stop at McDonalds so he could have those hashbrowns for doing his best with the shots.

**The Sick Daughter**

Thankfully today Maegann was feeling so much better. Still thinking it must have been a growth thing as the largest complaint had been aches in her legs and lower back. The upset stomach appears to have been an acid thing as baking soda took care of it easily last night. Now to figure out what is causing that for her.

**The Hit & Run Accusation**
The officer called again this evening (took him long enough) and he did not have anything new to offer me at this point. He still needs to call the accusing party and tell them what he's learned from me and then take care of it all. Praying this is a kind person and they will stick to what the officer had originally stated which was just wanting the insurance information. Regardless, I'm at peace with it all, but I would like them not to place "hit and run" on my record since I did not hit anyone. Pray with me if you would that this person would just be content with the insurance paying for the repairs.

**Kale Experiment**
I tried the Kale tonight that came in our Bountiful Basket this week. I put it in with the spinach for our Asian Beef, but ended up pulling most out as it just did not wilt like spinach and was too firm to taste right in this stir fry. So first experiment with Kale was a "No." Here's the link as some of you have asked for more info on the baskets. Appears they are mostly in the western and southern states. www.bountifulbaskets.org

**Wednesday**
Tomorrow I'll start the day at the gym listening to Joyce Meyer as I am on the treadmill. I do plan to get some resistance and ab work in as I've not done much for about a week. The rest of the day is fairly empty. Schoolwork with the kids, piano lesson for Maegann and Bible study for me in the evening. I'm betting I can get a nap in there somewhere!

Hugs to you and your babies, Janet. Isaac is such a *lucky* little guy to have YOU!! Children with autistic *stuff* in their lives today, are fortunate for this much more 'enlightened' time. Yep, I remember flying out of the doctor's office, and down the hospital corridors, being chased and tackled in my underwear!! The trauma of those shots/vaccines!! I got held down too, but NOT in the loving way you and your doctors did for Isaac. Nothing like getting laughed at and ridiculed for such an episode of anxiety... not good memories.

    Anyway...
    Here'
s a site I found on natural remedies for Maegann's growing pains:

    http://www.livestrong
    .com/article/510863-how-to-help
    -childrens-growing-pains-natura
    lly/

Tumeric, Curcumin, and Ginger will help with her upset tummy and growing pains too. Plenty of spinach, green peppers and onions, apples, oranges, strawberries, grapefruit and red grapes too. Salmon, tuna, cod or fish oil supplements are safer than anti-inflammatory medications.

Oh, I will pray that person does NOT get to falsely accuse you of hit and run!!

Sorry about your 'kale' failure, Janet. Maybe use it in a salad...

Hope things stay pretty much 'on track' today. emoticon

I love the quote! I'm glad that everything worked out with the doctor. Hope that everything gets resolved with the "hit & run". Have a nice quiet Wednesday!

I am thinking that in spite of the struggles, it is wonderful how Isaac has done under your care. Autism is not easy to deal with. Hooray for the Hash brown motivation!

When I have tried Kale, I haven't been thrilled either since it does seem tough to me.

Ohhhh ... I love that you have an "empty" (pretty much) day! Love the nap idea! On the other fronts, my heart goes out to you about the shots. There is no doubt you are a wonderful mother and that Isaac is greatly blessed being a part of your family. God certainly has His reasons for Isaac uniqueness and for your part in his journey. My heart goes out to you. Thank goodness you have a wonderful caring doctor who is ready and willing to help out with the tough stuff. What a blessing!

I was just checking out Bountiful Baskets today and disappointed to see they aren't dropping off in Parma anymore! emoticon My schedule finally changed so I could pick up there and they don't do it any more ... sigh ... it's always something, isn't it??? Oh well ... I'll just figure something else out!

Hope you really do work that nap in tomorrow!
