DR. Alber's top 5 tips for Mindful Eating

1. Put other things aside....when you sit down to eat, just eat, enjoy the bite you are eating

2. Tune in to your food.....think about what it taste like, savory all the flavors...

3.Learn to yield.....with the yield concept you just slow down, look over the food, decide what it is your going to eat, stand back if at a party or buffet..stand back and be mindful of what your going to choose not pick on auto pilot...

4. Swap sides....a study showed if you ate with your nondominant hand you will eat 30% less....this is worth a try....lol

5.Mind the day not the goal....if your end goal is to loose weight, focus on what you can do that day--not the daunting final goal...each and everyday focus on the process, not the out come....it will keep you motivated and engaged.

each bite should be savored, not endured.....

good advice as we all start the Christmas eating season.....

I hope this will help me get through the month with no weight gain........
