Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope everyone out there is having a blessed day today.
Tragedy stuck in our area yesterday, with two firefighters dead and two others hospitalized when they were shot responding to a fire. 7 Homes were burned to the ground, because the firefighters were pulled back (as they should have been) when the shooting began. It saddens me to know that those families, along with their friends and loved ones, will not have the Christmas they envisioned this year, or ever again. These families, and all families dealing with tragedy during this holiday season are in my thoughts and prayers today, and always.
Hubby and I had a good walk yesterday, we were surprised at the lack of traffic near the mall. We never made it to the mall, but went to the jewelery store next to the mall. Then we walked back to the dealership to pick up my car and did some more running around and stopping at stores looking for my Christmas present. Hubby knew what he wanted to get, but didn't know where to get it. 5 stores later he dropped me off at home and continued on his search. I am not a shopper, I detest shopping, I would rather go to the dentist than go shopping, so he knew I was at my limit.
Had a good time at my parents house last night. I did well foodwise, and have a plan for today, but today will be more challenging since there will be chips and dip available. (My great nephew and granddaughter love chips and dip, they must take after me, and would be crushed if I didn't have it for them. -- I know it's a trigger food for me, so I have to be careful with it, and any leftovers will go home with someone..)
Goals for today:
~ 80 oz water - 88 yesterday
~ 10,000 steps - 13k yesterday
~ 25 flights of stairs (this seems like a lot but I only use the upstairs bathroom at home, and that helps alot!) 11 yesterday
~ journal every bite
~ smile at least once an hour
~ relax and enjoy the time with family today and tomorrow
~ focus on this lifestyle I have chosen for myself and don't sweat the small stuff
