I suck at multi-tasking

I am a very good multi-tasker at work, but have never managed it in my personal life. When I was younger, if my car was clean, my house was filthy. If my grades were good, my social life was in shambled. If my weight was under control, everything other extra-curricular activity was on hold.
Why is it I can only commit to one thing at a time? I have made no progress with my weight in three months, and I need to do it. I signed up for a 5K at the end of April which I am in no shape to run. So I will be starting 5K training again this weekend and will do what I can when the big day gets here. I cannot lose weight if I don't track my food (I am simply no good as guesstimates) and I HATE tracking. The last thing I want to do when I have time on the computer is track my intake.
What I have been doing is writing. A lot of writing. I finally finished the novel that has been in my head for ten years. I am half way through my second edit. I will self publish this year (if I wait to do it the old fashioned way it will be another unfinished project collecting dust).
So it pains me to blog when I want to be working on my fiction, but I do it because I know I need help and support. I need to get back on the wagon and stay on it. I need to make time to exercise and write and spend time with family, etc. etc.
And now I need to go track breakfast.
