Paying The Price.

I didn't have a good day today where food was concern. I was attending a National Achievers Congress at an exhibition hall so I pretty much had my meals out.

Had breakfast of 3 small curry puffs as I drove, had another 3 during the morning tea break and lunch was steamed sweet corn kernels, chicken chop with gravy and rice. I made sure to have only half of the rice. Afternoon tea was a ham and something bun ... not sure what it was ... lol ...

BUT BLEW IT DURING DINNER AND NOW I'M PAYING THE PRICE!

It's been a long time since I had something called Bak Kut Teh (basically pork in herbal soup) so I decided to have that. I knew it wasn't a good choice calorie wise but greedy me went for it anyway. 2 weeks ago, that meal wouldn't have caused a problem neither would I have given it a second thought after eating it.

I guess after the past 2 weeks of having lighter dinners, maybe I've gotten use to it. Although I ate only half the rice, ate all the stuff in the soup and didn't drink much of the soup, I'm regretting my dinner choice. It's 2.30 am now where I live and I can't sleep coz my stomach feels like I ate a ton of bricks! I'm still so full from dinner and uncomfortable. I really am paying the price!

The next time I get this 'brainwave' of another heavy dinner (which was the norm 2 weeks ago), I'm going to remember tonight and how awful I'm feeling.

Lesson learned and price paid!

    I am sorry to hear that. Yes, that is a heavy price to pay. I am sure you will do better tomorrow.

    I do miss Bak Kut Teh! I do not remember when I had it. Such a long time ago.

    I am not sure how many hours you ate before you went to bed, but I hope you have some antacids around!! Prop yourself up on a couple pillows and try that.. takes the weight of your full tummy off your lungs/heart.
