Ok I've had some success, feeling oh so much better! I've got a ways to go. I plan to achieve my goal -weight loss wise but will I succeed in maintenance?
In the past I've always exercised and exercised to lose wt. Then over time my newly formed food and exercise habits begin to fade one by one and over time I give up until I've eventually gained it back....
So what to do while I'm losing THIS time to make it the last time? I'm thinking about the future. Sure I'm focusing on each day.... Staying on track, monitoring my food--exercising, drinking water etc. However I'm thinking about the tools I'm gathering to succeed and problem solving as I go along. I'm learning that I need to reward myself in other ways, not use food and food shopping for entertainment, be assertive with friends and family about what I need, learn from each challenge that I encounter along the way and not give in to any nonproductive behaviors . Yes my lifestyle needs to continue to be more active-- but I need to beef up the intensity of my workouts during the time I have available---I don't need to exercise for hours and hours even though I do need to exercise each day.
I am a work in progress but I'm not giving up not yet. Stay tuned!!!
