Fate?...Joy?...BOTH !

My DH is home from the hospital today.

just over a week ago, we rushed to the ER; didn't even wait for an ambulance. Originally i planned to get her to the 'better' hospital in town, but it was 2 miles farther; so we went to the good, but older, hosp.

I didn't recognize the symptoms as meningitis til after the er staff moved her into a 'private' sealed room, and the 2nd doc came in and asked her about any neck pain. I was shocked and terrified, since i barely lived thru the Big M myself 30 years ago.

At that point, she didn't know where she was or who i was. After a scan and a test, they got her into the icu and they suggested i go home. I informed them i'd be staying and that we'd been together 20 years. They welcomed me into the isolation room, told me they were glad i planned to stay the night, and helped us thru the ordeal.

She recovered so quickly, just a week from the onset, that the drs are thrilled.

She'll have a long recovery, which we'll spend together. We discussed my past experience, and we had a talk about how it was Meant2B; that i was pretty much a useless person and didn't even want to continue to exist then, for a long period of time... but that if i'd ended it thru passively letting go during that infection, that we'd never have met. And, we were Definitly Meant2meet!

I want to thank everyone who's helped us thru this; and now i get to rest a little with DearHeart, and start sending prayers out for everyone who was so gracious and loving and supportive!

Many local irl people prayed for my DH even when they don't 'agree with' our relationship, and even tho they recognized that we don't share specific ideas of faith with them!

ps the day after my DH went into the icu, one of our dearest friends was on the fone with her when that friend's relative at her home had a stroke!... so she's in the icu at the 'better' hospital. Please Pray for Her recovery, too!
