So Rude!

My oldest daughter has a good friend who is a bit older than she is. Therefore, everytime my daughter needs a ride to and from school this delightful young lady has assisted. We have helped with gas money and gave a nice Christmas gift, also we are intending on giving her a generous graduation gift.
My daughter recently commented that her friend had never been for Dim Sum, so could we take her pal with us next time we go and we said we'd be delighted. My husband asked if it could be set up for this Sunday. My girl sent her invite and then we got the response. Hmpph!
Another friend of my daughters, but only casually, due to a 9 year age difference, drove Mary and her friend home from rehearsals and then both girls ambushed her with the request that she be invited also! Have you ever heard of such gall? The other girl is 26 freakin' years old! Do not put a 17 year old in such an awkward position! My girl was so upset and my husband, who is usually generous to a fault was furious!
We wanted to cancel the whole thing right there, but that put Mary in an awkward position, so we said since the other children were not allowed to bring their friends, it wouldn't be fair for Mary to bring 2 friends. So now it is just us going and my girl is looking at her dear friend in a new light. Sadly, these are both nice young ladies, just lacking in common courtesy.
