Where we are

Thinking about where we are tonight. Safe in the arms of a clear sky and a waning moon and fragrant breeze.
Here in California.. we are not facing tornados of the midwest, Or massive rain of north east nor thunderstorms as in the south east.. Or forest fires (as in Colorado). We face each day thankful for where we are and the blessings we have. The comforts we have and enjoy.
We become weary of the smaller threatening fires, the neighborhood disturbances, the traffic and the barking dogs. The loud music (better known as rap) on the cars as they circle the neighborhood, the children that shout at each other on the streets in a friendly game of football or ball toss.... Little girls screaming in delight in a friendly game of tag. Someone has their TV too loud.. their BBQ burning on beyond the steaks being done..And the skunks from the creek emitting their well known scent on the otherwise perfect spring night.
I am so happy that I can't seem to lose any weight, my eyesight is getting dimmer, and I can't walk as far as I would like. My morning exercise is making sure that I can extend my arms and legs well enough to get out of bed and face the world anew.
Yes, each day that I am vertical... I am truly grateful.
For my friends and family in areas of the States that are plagued with more weather than they deserve ....I pray that we all come out of it ok..
