My workout Shake up

Through a lot of SP reading I have finally figured out I cannot do the same old exercises everyday. I've been doing 40 minutes a day on the treadmill. One week my ankle hurt and I pushed through. I paid for it with some pain and healed it with rest over that weekend but went right back to it.

I have decided my body is on to me. It has come to expect my food intake and exercise to stay the same and has decided "I'll show her". Scale isn't budging much despite my "doing everything right". Wrong.

I've been neglecting my strength exercises and probably in the habit of eating not quite enough. So yesterday I ate a bit more and gained a 4 oz.
So what. Today I did the same eating wise with a piece of dark chocolate thrown in for good measure. Yum.

I also cut back on my treadmill minutes to 25 and added several strength exercises. Take that, body!!! I will continue this for a week or two and then change again. I firmly believe this will fool my metabolism (at least increase it) If it doesn't' well then I'll try something else new.

I can only benefit despite a plateau! I think I'll win this one! emoticon

    Ypu might want to look into the HIIT work out and see if that helps you get your system back to doing what it needs to.

    Check out my latest diet plan... 'The Fast Metabolism Diet' by Haylie Pomroy.

    She goes on exactly the theory you are talking about...shake up that metabolism and keep it guessing. But I warn you this plan has plenty of NO's and tons of cooking. I'm bound and determined to stick with it for the 28 days and hope she knows what she's talking about in losing up to 20 pounds and resetting our metabolism.

    Day 12 and so good so far. I don't weigh in til Saturday for this week but I did lose about 5 pounds in I think it was 8 days. I'm totally stuffed to the gills with good healthy food...who knew...we have to EAT to lose? I like the way she thinks..yes I do! emoticon emoticon

    Sounds like you have a plan, Lee, to shake things up a bit. Funny how that works - and I'm sure it will in your case. With your perseverance and determination, you will move mountains!!!

    Bravo! You are a terrific example of this theory which for most of us is absolutely true. Keep shaking things up -- you are far more intelligent than your metabolism! Keep us posted, please.....
