thinkin 'bout past few days-

We have son #2, the Air Canada Pilot here----with his daughter-our Grand Daughter-
Son#1,3 and 4, have been out a lot to visit-share meals-
It seems we were all on that horrid "'Hope Diet""--you know--eat everything and hope for the best---


If one needs to lose weight, one must be strong enough to make better choices----sez me!!

    I have been working from home these last few months and am finding it really hard to keep my will power in check. When I worked in the office I had my lunch and snacks packed and while I still do that now, I find my mind wondering as to what else I can eat. At other times I get so busy that I find by late afternoon that I have not had lunch!! Not good when trying to keep my blood sugars from dipping and spiking!! I have been also trying to eat more veggies and less fruit in order to lower the sugar content of my diet. Still no weight loss. I have to stop talking about joining a gym and getting in the pool a few times per week and just do it!! Talk is not action!!! Although moving my mouth to talk instead of to eat is a definite benefit!!

    time spent with family is so important but usually involves the table. there are many ways to build memories and togetherness around the table without meals or snacking though------board games, card games, puzzles......and outside lawn games , walks or biking, shooting hoops........enjoy the fun, then eat again

    Yes, that is my problem lately! I hope for the best. Well, it isn't working! I have to try a new strategy! Believe it or not, we did look at puppies over the weekend, but talked ourselves out of it. I will know when the right one comes along. Indie will give me a nudge, I am sure:) You are never pushy!     Nice that your family is so close knit. That is a blessing. I have to say, ONEKIDSMOM has the right idea, though. Get the plate taken away after about 20 minutes (we usually enjoy the first few bites of food the most anyway!) and continue to enjoy your family's company!

    Remembering what you really, really want is hard when surround by folks who make you really really want to linger over your time with them. Lingering over time does not necessarily have to mean continuing to eat, though... have the server take your plate away and sip your water and keep on savoring your family!

    My "hope" diet largely consists of consuming food and hoping it directly passes through me without me gaining weight. It isn't working so far emoticon

    I do the "hope" diet alot myself! Not on purpose really. . . it just sort of happens when I'm not paying attention. emoticon Glad you are getting to spend so much time with the family. That! Must make you feel very, very good, no? Oh, and I love the "choose your hard". I never thought of diet/exercise like that, but it's absolutely true! Thanks for the reminder.
