Inspired to swim

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

Not exactly sure if I did anything to hurt my groin, but it hurts. So instead of going for a walk/run, I took to the local pool. I got a good 40 minutes in and my daughter swam with me for a little while. It's fun to see her under the water watching me and smiling. It warms my heart emoticon

I forgot how nice it was to swim! Wish the pool was open more hours, I'd be all over that! They are only open during the summer, so I better make the best of it.

Went over my calories today. That dang cinnamon bread... it must be dealt with, but oh so yummy. Other than that, it's been a productive 3 days :) Let's hope the scale agrees

Unlike our friend, OPTIMIST, I find swimming requies *all* of my attention. It is the most demanding workout that I do. The entire body is engaged. I am enjoying it more lately, but it is all relative. I also enjoy it more when I have a friend to swim with.

I was able to swim twice a week for my last two years at UMass. Great workout and cross training. During the summer, our pool is only open for 5 am to 7 am when I am on baby duty, letting the DW get a lie-in. Looking forward to expanded pool hours and getting back in the pool. Hope you find a way to continue swimming after the summer ends!
