Monday morning and it's time for weigh-in! This week I increased my movement in a fun way. I spent time in the garden digging and weeding. James, Georgia and the kids stopped over for a while and joined me garden-side.
An afternoon with Cassidy was started from the bottom of Queen Street where we stopped in to see James ~ and buy bed sheets, followed by a walk up to Victoria Row where we listened to music on the street stage. From there to the Confederation Centre and up and down all the steps throughout the multi-level gallery ~ art & exercise!
Lynn, Shannon and I spent an afternoon exploring antique shops in the Kensington/New Annan area ~ lots of interesting things to look at! And, of course, as anyone knows, you can't go to Kensington without stopping at Tasty Treat for their oh-so-creamy ice-cream (just a small strawberry sundae for me!) We also peeked through all the treasures at So Bazaar!
An afternoon with Angela, Amber, Aiden and Cameron started at Toys R Us and then down to Berry Healthy for frozen yogurt treats ~ yummy but way too expensive! Since we were in the area, we took the kids over to Confederation Centre and once more spent an afternoon exploring our artistic appreciation side. The kids loved the movement of the lake exhibition and the short video vignettes.
By the way, if you ever want to look at art from a whole new perspective, take a child to a gallery!
My week of movement ended at the beach in Souris with Zoltan, Cynthia and Ree. Where, thanks to Zoltan's patience (and strong hands) and Cynthia and Ree's support (both phsyical and emotional) I actually was in water over my head and floating on my back!! Those who know me will realize how absolutely incredible of an achievement that is for me! Forty years of fear conquered!! TEARS!!
And what did all this week of fun get me, besides some great memories .... two pounds of weight gone.
While two pounds is not earth-stopping, it is two pounds that was lost, not by depriving myself, but by having fun, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the occasional treat along the way!
~~ And THAT, my dear friends, is my AHA moment! ~~ IT WAS FUN!!~~
This is the display I was telling you about... well worth the stairs at the Gallery!
