Saying Goodbye in Pictures...

Sunday, August 25, 2013

Hi All,

Today was bittersweet, we said good-bye to our Assistant/Young Adults and Youth Pastor, including our Children's Pastor this morning, we had a lovely service, the Praise and Worship was awesome, we had a special presentation, and gave them a beautifully framed Wall Print with Scripture inscribed on it for their new home, a scrumptious luncheon, and had the Church Board pray over these 2 very special people in our Church. They felt the leading of the Lord to give their notice as they felt the Call of God on their lives to enter into a Missionary/Pastorate so will be getting ready for that in the very near future, in the meantime Pastor Alicia will be teaching in the Elementary School system until they are called into the next phrase of their ministry lives. Pastor Dave brought the sermon today, "Finishing Well" he featured the lives of Solomon, Gideon, Jonah, Samson and Paul, a powerful message.

After the message our Main Pastor had an open "mike" for anyone who wished to share, and pretty much the whole Church, of course the Youth/Young Adults all shared amidst mega tears, it sure was an emotional farewell. Indeed we will miss them, I have enjoyed working with them the past few years, I helped with VBS the past several summers, including this past one the end of July, had a super time. Yes Pastor Dave and Alicia will be so missed...

We are now in another Pastorate search for another Assistant, Young Adults, Youth and Children's Pastor.

Having a husband and wife team worked really well, please pray for us that we will find another Pastor soon, especially with us heading back to our Fall programs in the next 3 weeks.

Hope you enjoy the following pictures I took of the presentation this morning at Church...

So hard to see member's of our faith family go, especially leaders. Prayers for your church in finding replacements and for them as they move on to the next thing the Lord has for them.

We recently just got a new pastor after looking for a little over a year. I understand the bitter sweetness you mention. God will bring the right people in.

We get so used to things the way they are and when the Lord moves, it seems that He takers the people that we need the most. The Lord knows who will fill that spot. He has someone already lined up with different views on the way things should be done. Just like the ones that are leaving your church. They will be going to help someone else with their views. We just need to pray for their move and for the new person or persons coming to your church.
