I had started this journey for the umpteenth time with Jenny Craig back in May of this year...and I was really working for me. I loved the accountability of seeing a coach each week, getting to weigh in without everyone looking over my shoulder, and the food was pretty good too.
Then out of the blue, JC headquarters decided it would be a good plan to close about 120 centers...and guess which one was included in that...grr. OH, but I had options, I could drive to Everett (which is about an hour & a half away from me) every week, or do the 'online program'.
I guess the thing that made me the most upset was the fact that I was really getting into the groove of things, I had lost about 16lbs. It really threw off my game. Plus, I had already paid them over $300 in just membership fees for the entire year and got about 6 weeks out of it...oh yes, I complained until I got my money back... :)
Anyway, I decided if I was going to do an online program, I certainly wasn't going to continue to pay them to do it. There was SparkPeople! However, I seemed to do a 2 month long, spoiled brat, eat-whatever-I-want-because-wh
at's-the point-anyway binge. You can only eat like crap so long before you start feeling like it too.
So, I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and decided it's never too late to start over. I'm going back with the thing that gave me the most success in the past, a low-carb approach. I know there are many naysayers, but with my sensitivity to grains (especially the older I get) it seems to work the best for me.
And here I am...to stay. So get used to it...lol. :)
I have about 125lbs to lose but my new approach is just one small goal at a time...
